Assalamualaikum,
Today is the second day of fasting and I have done a little bit of reality checking before going back to work tomorrow. It seems that I really have to rapidly adapt myself to the situation. Even with the two days holiday, there is a high tendency of me getting groggy and go to sleep during daytime. I can't afford to do that on normal working days...hmmm. Anyhow, I won't have to wait long for the answer as I have no choice but to endure it tomorrow...wish me luck.
As for the Ramadhan Bazaar here in Keramat AU area, from my observations, the number of stalls is noticeably depleting compared to previous years. Last time it used to take the whole street and on both side of it. This time, only half-way through from the way it used to be and on only one side of the street. Hmmm. So my conclusion is that people here don't have much of a choice and the hawkers maybe turn to somewhere more profittable to them. Maybe sometime in the future I am going to try and give the Setiawangsa's Ramadhan Bazaar a visit and see how things are there.
Anyhow, for those who live nearby Keramat area, there is this one single stall which sells Tepung Pelita Asli and all I can say it was the most delicious tepung pelita I have ever tasted (last night of course) for a long, long time. It's gonna cost you RM2 for only 5 cups of tepung pelita (yes...price hike, used to be 6 for RM2). Why they call it asli or original? Mostly I think it is because the various ways of hawker preparing it nowadays. It seems that the tepung pelita have changed "container" from just banana leaf to various shape of plastics. I guess asli refers to the banana leaf container.
Because of it's deliciousness, I couldn't get my hands on today's tepung pelita. Finished by the time I got there. Bummer. So I turned my attentions to the nearby Samosa stall (5 for RM3). Hope it is as yummy as it's appearance.
Ok guys, time for Iftar. Gotta help my mom prepare the table. Selamat berbuka puasa everyone!!!
