Active Standby Cleaned

| Sunday, September 28, 2008

Assalamualaikum,

Ever since I upgraded my N95 to V30, I can't help myself to search for a way to permanently remove all those messy and useless shortcuts on Active Standby which was forced to be there after the upgrade was done.

At first, I opted for the RomPatcher, but I have to repeat patching every time I restart my phone and this is very annoying.

But today I found a way to permanently remove unwanted plugins on the Active Standby to leave it clean and better looking. Here's the proof of me removing the Calender, the Search and the Share plugin. I opted to retain the WLAN and To-do plugin as I often use them.

Cleaner Active Standby, bye bye Unwanted Plugins!!

Follow the following steps:
  1. Turn off active standby
  2. Copy from z:\resource AIPluginDefinition.rsc to c:\resoucre
  3. Edit c:\resource\AIPluginDefinition.rsc via xplore to disable or enable plugins
  4. See below and check plugin uid you like to show or not show
  5. Open AIPluginDefinition.rsc via xplore (select file and push 8)
  6. Search uid via hex-search
  7. Change first occurring uid to some other uid (for example change xxxxxx10 to xxxxxx11 - easy to remember later to change it back - change then xxxxxx11 to xxxxxx10)
  8. Save file
  9. Activate active standby
List of Active Standby Plugins in Hex:
  • 05871f10-0200-01-00-00000000 - Shortcut
  • 527d0020-0200-01-00-527d0020 - Search
  • 07871f10-0200-01-00-00000000 - Calender/Organizer
  • 09871f10-0200-01-00-09871f10 - To-do
  • 18871f10-0200-01-00-18871f10 - mplayer
  • 0d871f10-0200-01-64-0d871f10 - aioperatorplugin

  • c7090020-0200-01-00-c7090020 - Printintent
One can also change appearance order of plugins. The order is defined in the order which they appear in rsc file.

Proven to work on:
N81, N82, N95, N95 8gb

note : Phone must be hacked using Drakkarious method to move the required rsc files.
