I'm In Love..
Honda |
Assalamualaikum,
Today I went literally speaking, window shopping. Window shopping through the window of the World Wide Web. I can go anywhere I want to. Hehe. And today's target item is a new set of wheels. I am still looking for a model which can suit me the best. Last time I have a crush at the Suzuki Swift. But everyone around me was against my will, so I was left with a broken heart but optimist to one day meet the true love. Hiks.
They often told me to go for the Honda City line which falls under the same category of cars which I can afford to buy but I never liked the previous models...at least not until I saw this on Paul Tan's website. The 2009 Honda City. It was like love at first sight. But I have no detail information of it. It is set to be unveiled mid of 2009 in Malaysia. Fortunately enough for me, the same car was officially launched in Thailand recently so I get sneak peek on how it looks like.
I can't wait to see this model in Malaysia. Maybe when I experience it for myself then only I will make the ultimate decision.
p.s: Setbacks...previous Honda City only comes with Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) which can be called automatic transmission. I never met the manual transmission. Hmmm...
Active Standby Cleaned
Active Standby, Clean Active Standby, Nokia, Remove Active Standby | Sunday, September 28, 2008
Assalamualaikum,
Ever since I upgraded my N95 to V30, I can't help myself to search for a way to permanently remove all those messy and useless shortcuts on Active Standby which was forced to be there after the upgrade was done.
At first, I opted for the RomPatcher, but I have to repeat patching every time I restart my phone and this is very annoying.
But today I found a way to permanently remove unwanted plugins on the Active Standby to leave it clean and better looking. Here's the proof of me removing the Calender, the Search and the Share plugin. I opted to retain the WLAN and To-do plugin as I often use them.
Follow the following steps:
- Turn off active standby
- Copy from z:\resource AIPluginDefinition.rsc to c:\resoucre
- Edit c:\resource\AIPluginDefinition.rsc via xplore to disable or enable plugins
- See below and check plugin uid you like to show or not show
- Open AIPluginDefinition.rsc via xplore (select file and push 8)
- Search uid via hex-search
- Change first occurring uid to some other uid (for example change xxxxxx10 to xxxxxx11 - easy to remember later to change it back - change then xxxxxx11 to xxxxxx10)
- Save file
- Activate active standby

Back For Eid
Snippet | Saturday, September 27, 2008
Assalamualaikum,
Arrived back home in KL just when I was starting to lose all concentration at work. Hardly every word that came out my mouth was right. It felt like I needed to be reformatted here in my own hometown before anything gets worse.
Eid festive season is just around the corner. Just few more days to go. At home, I set sight on the weight scale and found courage to step on it. To my surprise, I lost 2 kilos. To add to that, I can also slip myself into one of my newly unworn jeans which was previously impossible for my to fit in. Funny but true, I did lose some weight. And I did not attempt to do anything extreme other than fasting to lose weight for the past few weeks. I guess fasting is the natural way of loosing weight and getting into shape.
About Eid preparation, I sincerely can admit that no such action was taken in terms of getting new outfit for raya. Not that I am not looking forward for the oocasion, but it's just that I think I already have an adequate number of cloth and I won't make Eid as an excuse for me to get more unnecessary cloths.
The only thing I am looking forward is Mama's Raya Cooking. I can imagine having those palas leaf ketupat, beef rendang and beef flosss on the dining table...MMmmmm. Anytime soon, Abah and I will be heading to Chow Kit wet market to get some of the important ingredients for raya feast. Will be writing bout those later when I have time. Until then, have a nice preparation for Eid. Take care now bye bye then

Assalamualaikum,
Raya Cards
Maybe mainly because that I am less friendly and more 'garang' than last year caused this depleting number of received cards. But hey, better than not receiving anything at all. At least I know someone out there still appreciates me.
p.s: I can't concentrate here. Seems to be distracted by something I don't know what....
Hit and Run
Snippet | Thursday, September 18, 2008
Assalamualaikum,
Sorry for not posting anything for the past few days, I was really depressed with the fact that some people in this world still ignorant and irresponsible.
Last Monday in the college parking lot, someone hit my car and nobody came and admit about it. This coward have no guts to come and see me for the what he/she did. This really frustrates me because this is not the first time that this happen in the parking lot. The rear end of my car was dented and I thank God that my backlight survived the hit.
Suddenly, I am really pissed that JPJ actually letting "COWS" or "BA-ALIF-BA-YA" own driving license easily nowadays. There are some people here I can pinpoint that should never pass that license test in the first place but they did. What JPJ don't realize is that, not only they allow incompetent drivers on the road, they actually somehow released potential murderer on the road which can not only harm themselves, but other innocent user like me. People owning license nowadays should go through some kind of mental test to clarify that they are also mentally fit to be behind the wheels.
I have cooled down now, and I pray that this won't happen to me again. Not that I wish the person who done this to my car to suffer, but I really hope that something will happen to make him/her realize what wrong was done towards me. Amin.
Anyway, I haven't repaired anything because I don't have alternative vehicle to get to work. Maybe when I get back to KL then I will send my beloved car for a repair and touch up here and there. Thinking of adding side skirt since I am sending my car for body shop.
p.s: Ada kawan kata doa orang teraniya dimakbulkan, tapi jangan doakan kecelakaan orang, tapi mintak dapat menang hadiah kereta baru.
N95 Firmware Upgrade
Nokia | Sunday, September 14, 2008
Assalamualaikum,
Few days ago, I was in dilemma of whether I should upgrade my N95's firmware or not. Being unoccupied during the weekend finally persuaded me to upgrade after readinga forums that I should gain more advantages after upgrading.
One thing that worries me was the ability to install third party software like RotateMe and Panoman with the new firmware. They said that the new firmware security has been upgraded and unsigned software cannot be installed. However in the world of S60, where there is a will there's a way. As soon as Nokia came up with the new firmware, hackers already plot their way to make them hackable thus allowing unsigned software to be installed normally like before.
I started Saturday morning, soon after my inability to return to sleep after sahur. Prepared the backup for my phone and began to use Nokia Software Updater. Detected my phone and downloading the latest firmware. But to my suprise, soon after the download was complete the firmware was unable to be installed due to some error message that requires my phone to be reset. However, the suggested procedure was a failure and I was left wondering what went wrong. I composed myself quickly and consulted my friends over the Symbian Forum to get some answers. But still no solution the problem I am having.
Then when all hope was lost finally I decided, hey...since I am installing new firmware and all the data was previously backed up, why don't I perform hard reset which will return my phone to it's original state adn it worked. Alhamdulillah. After that, I continued where I left of and to my relief, I was able to proceed with the upgrade.
After that, I reloaded all my contacts and important notes and data back into my phone and began installing some of the necessary software. Only this time I was adviced to install Drakkarious to allow some of my software to be installed in the new firmware.
Noticable Changes after Upgrade:
- Faster booting process
- Crowded Standby mode (Share online option added)
- Better picture quality
- Better battery consumption (this one I like)
- No longer need TRK and SecMan to install N-gage game due to the usage of Drakkarious.
- New upgrade for the Music Player
- New Cool Dark Nokia Theme
p.s: The reason I decided to take the leap is because I am confident that I will soon acquire the problem solution (the menu and crowded active standby) in no time...
Popia Reservations??
Assalamualaikum,
I am posting from home to experience fasting in the middle of Ramadhan back here in KL. Unlike away from home, I seldom have rice for sahur but instead I opted for something simple and easy to swallow like fried meehun and roti john.
But at home, it is compulsory to have rice and I actually have to be up off my bed as early as 4 a.m to get ready. This change of food consumption of course is going to take its effect immediately after sahur and I am not going to talk about that. Hehe.
More interesting, Mama said that there is this one popia shop at our nearest pasar ramadhan that people are craving that even if you get there early, it would still be sold out. Interesting? Well, I just have to take a look for myself then.
Saturday evening, I embarked on a journey to discover about this popia and maybe try to get some myself. But as soon as I got there, the shop said HABIS [finished]. But apparently there were two people folding popia there and so I asked on how could I buy those popia. It seems that to do so, we have to book one day early. So I wrote down my name and booked a hefty number of popia considering the time it took for me to wait.
Sunday evening, after the afternoon nap (hehe), I discovered that it was dark outside and the wind was blowing like tornado. At that moment I remembered what the guy at the stall said the other day, "Adik, kalau adik tak datang sebelum pukul 6.30, Abang jual kat orang lain tau". And so, I got up and went to the stall as soon as possible.
It was windy and heavy rain began to fall as I reached the stall and waited for my order to be ready. I hope that the popia is worth all the trouble I have to go through. Not only that I got the Popia Basah. I also got 'Basah' myself. Huhuhu
p.s : Funny how nowadays we have to take number to buy Murtabak as well.
LIVERPOOL 2 - 1 MAN UTD : Long Time Coming
Football |
Assalamualaikum,
It was nerve wrecking and nail biting to wait so long to beat Man Utd in the league. But winning after coming from behind was more precious... read the review courtesy of www.liverpoolfc.tv and pics from www.4thegame.com
The Reds had to recover from a nightmare start after Carlos Tevez gave the visitors a third minute lead.
A calamitous error from Edwin van der Sar led to Brown's OG midway inside the first half before substitute Babel became the first Red to score a league goal against United in more than four years to win the game.
A 90th minute sending off for Nemanja Vidic added late drama to a fantastic match which will long be remembered round these parts.
The result is even more satisfying given the fact Benitez went into the encounter without talisman Steven Gerrard and top goalscorer Fernando Torres - albeit both made the seven-man bench. For their part, United had to cope with the absence of Cristiano Ronaldo, though Alex Ferguson could call upon £30million deadline day signing Dimitar Berbatov.
It was the Bulgarian who played the orchestrator as the game got off to a frenetic start.
Even before the goal, Berbatov had a shot blocked by the arms of Martin Skrtel, though thankfully Howard Webb adjudged it to be accidental.
United will say that justice was done just moments later when the new boy's low cross rolled agonisingly past the Reds backline towards Tevez, who made no mistake in finding the back of Pepe Reina's net.
Three minutes gone and our chances of recording a first league win over United since April 2004 were already severely dented.
The Liverpool response was almost immediate as Dirk Kuyt volleyed narrowly wide from 15 yards.
Minutes later Kuyt was again denied, this time by the flailing arms of the hapless van der Sar, who recovered well from some sloppy handling.
This was followed by some neat trickery from debutant Albert Riera, who appeared to be fouled after evading two defenders in the box. Again referee Webb kept his whistle in his pocket, making it 1-1 in the questionable penalty decision stakes.
If tempers were always under control, there remained a palpable bite to proceedings, illustrated with a petulant challenge from Wayne Rooney on 22 minutes after a fierce but perfectly time tackle from Javier Mascherano.
If this wasn't quite madness, what followed four minutes later certainly was as Xabi Alonso's 25-yard cross-cum-shot deflected off one United defender before a horrible spill from van der Sar sent the ball into the net off Brown's shin.
In what can only be described as an act of footballing romanticism, Anfield announcer George Sefton gave the goal to the lurking Riera, but the Spanish international will have to wait a little longer to record his first Liverpool goal.
A relative period of quiet followed, though a couple of excellent interventions from stand-in captain Jamie Carragher were required to thwart the ever-dangerous Berbatov before half-time.
It was Liverpool who created the better openings when the second period got underway, notably when Yossi Benayoun was fed through only to lose control as van der Sar closed in.
Seconds later Mascherano's right boot smashed the ball into the six-yard box, where the lively Robbie Keane waited on legs not quite long enough to get the required flick.
Skrtel was next in the act, playing a one-two with Kuyt before testing the goalkeeper from 20 yards.
If this made the Kop smile, then the entrance of Gerrard on 67 minutes made them positively purr.
That said, the skipper's appearance was almost immediately overshadowed by a looping shot from another substitute, Ryan Giggs, which forced a fingertip save from Reina.
Next to make way was Riera, who can be satisfied with a decent 70-minute debut which left the Anfield faithful thirsty for more.
But while he enjoyed an early shower, his replacement, Ryan Babel, wasted no time making his mark by becoming the first Liverpool player to score a league goal against United in almost 14 hours of football.
The 77th minute strike was a product of fantastic persistence from Mascherano down the right, allowing Kuyt to gain possession and roll the ball across the face of goal, where his countryman waited to tuck home with ease.
There was more late drama as the final whistle loomed when Nemanja Vidic went in elbow first on Xabi Alonso to receive a second yellow.
Kuyt could have put the icing on the cake in injury time but he was denied from close range by van der Sar.

Assalamualaikum,
Took the liberty to try out my blog appearance on the all new Google Chrome for Windows.

It looks perfectly fine with my blog in it. At least better than it looked on IE7. But I'm still hooked on Mozilla Firefox 3.
Menara Taming Sari Melaka
Assalamualaikum,
soon after the alien exhibition...
This new addition of tourist attraction is located near the Dataran Pahlawan at Banda Hilir Melaka was in our radar once we reached there last Saturday. This only gyro tower in Malaysia enables the tourist to have broad perspective view of Banda Hilir 110 meters from top.
After lining up at the counter, the attendent told us that the ride on the tower will cost us RM20 but if we produce our MyKad, only RM10 will be charged per pax. Looks like this MyKad has its use after all. Hiks.
This coach is a circular shaped compartment that will take us on top of the tower and rotate slowly to observe the scenery around Melaka. The ride will last approximately 7 minutes according to the attendant.
The view up here was spectacular and breathtaking. We can also see the shores and the sea of Straits of Melaka.
Soon after the ride, we headed to the Dataran Pahlawan shopping complex next to the Menara Taming Sari Melaka. It seems that they are having a Raya Show for Astro and some of their stars like Mawi and Mila was present. But I forgot to take photo of them. Hiks.
After that we went to pick a place to break our fast and chose Burger King. It was there that I met my ex-student, Ariffin. He told me that he is now studying in Technical University of Melaka. Good to know that my ex-student had the chance to further his studies.
Later we headed to the Jonker Walk which is situated at Jalan Hang Tuah in Melaka. This place is like the night market anywhere in Malaysia. This is where Sodep got his friends some souvinirs. Me on the other hand was too tired to enjoy the environment.
Got back home after that to end what was a very fun day at Melaka.
Until then, take care now bye bye then...
The Science of Alien Exhibition
Assalamualaikum
Last Saturday right after I finished work in the afternoon, I soon headed to Melaka for window shopping and Iftar somewhere there with Sodep. But as soon as we exited Ayer Keroh toll booth, suddenly my bestest friend remembered an advertisement about an exhibition The Science of Aliens which will be held at MITC, Melaka from 23rd August 2008 to 22nd of January 2009. So we decided to head there to see what so alien about it. Here is what the ad said...
"Do you believe in aliens? Have you ever looked up unto the starry sky and wondered if they exist and if they do what would you have to say if they communicated with us? The Science of Alien Exhibition is here to answer all you questions."
"Come on over for a closer interaction with aliens, alien worlds and other mysteries from beyond. Step into a whole new dimension and figure out for yourself if the truth is really out there. Wholly scientific, educational and interactive. The Science of Aliens Exhibition is sure to answer all your queries and leave you with more thought provoking theories than ever before."
The price of admission is RM 8 for adults, RM 4 for children and RM 20 for family package (2 adults + 3 children). The exhibition consist of 4 distinctive Zones; ZOne 1 : Aliens Fantasy & Imaginations, Zone 2 : The Science of Aliens, Zone 3 : Their World and Zone 4 : Communicating with them.
Zone 1 : Aliens Fantasy & Imaginations
In the first zone, we were greeted with a giant alien replica of the movie Aliens. There was a lot of ideas and imagination brought here especially from the movie industry ever since the 60's. Movies that applies the presence of aliens such as Aliens, Predator, Star Wars and even the famous E.T. There was also a actual size replica of a famous character in Star Wars, Ewoks. Aliens presence always have been associated with crop circles and there were several photos of them in this zone.
This alien was snoring when I was there...hehehe
Zone 2 : The Science of Aliens
This zone meanwhile offers factual stuff that can be related to aliens. We always assume that aliens come from outer space which is basically thousands of feet above us. But what we don't know, there are also species "alien" to us like in these photos. They exists in the ocean deep. Do you know that it is dark down there like it is in outer space? So they should be some kind of resemblance.I guess strange creature live in extreme places and conditions.
note: these creatures really exist, they are not man-made fantasies.
Zone 3 : Their World
In this particular zone, two high tech organism simulators are displayed to simulate what it would be like in a planet with different environments and living creature. The simulators are very high tech and uses touch sensor to let visitor experience themselves on conditions and characteristics of creatures in the simulated world. Very interesting.
Zone 4 : Communicating with them
In the final zone, there were three communicating machine which is suppose to project our message in a form of symbol because they said that aliens would have problem communicating in our language, so we were given a chance to send message in a form of 3 symbols. Mine was "Aliens", "Love", "Man", "?". I guess that sums the whole alien thingy.
p.s: hope the aliens won't misunderstand the message...hehe
